Meet Sausage...

Sausage is my latest tame robin. I know it's not Bouncer, the one that I got to take mealworms from the patio table next to me in the summer, and the one that Karen is painting. I know this because Sausage is not that tame. But he is very cute and very demanding. Sausage has been the very grateful recipient of something in the region of 15 or so live mealworms from me every day for about the last month. Never greedy, he will only ever take three or sometimes four before he flies off, presumably full up. Every time I open the back door, he is there. Whether he lurks in the hollybush all day waiting or he has some other vantage point I know not. But he just appears like magic. Sometimes, I only have to look out of the window, and he appears. He will only come within about 6 feet of me, no nearer. Oh, and he knows his name. On the rare occasion that he's not already sitting on the fence as the door opens by an inch, I merely have to call out "Sausage" and he materializes. He won't eat the suet pellets, the sunflower hearts or any of the other goodies that most of them like. Or even dead dry mealworms. Only the live ones. He is also very territorial, and chases off another poor little devil, luckily the infiltrator can fly faster as no blood has been shed as yet, wonder if he's getting any food though? There is one that occasionally comes on the kitchen windowsill pot and gets a few bits before he's chased, and also one round the front porch. None of them are Bouncer though. Wonder what happened to him? Perhaps best not to know. Maybe he will surprise me and appear again like he did last year after being missing for months.

Mmm, TRYING to paint/draw would be more accurate.
Sausage is a cutie too and what a beautiful sunset.
