It's now beyond a joke

I am so very fed up. I don't want to start blogging on the oh woe is me lines again really, but it has to be said. I cannot take a lot more of this bloody weather we have in this shithole of a country. It's rained pretty much continually for three bloody days. Yesterday, I didn't even want to get out of bed. Looked at the grey skies and it was a real effort not to just stay there all day. If it weren't for the birds and the pets I think I would. As it was, got up and paced from room to room looking out of the window. Couldn't settle to do anything in here, and was impossible to do anything outside. I got so very down that I went to bed yesterday afternoon for two hours just to pass some time. I fell asleep though no problem.

As soon as we get some wet weather here too, the sick birds start to appear. There was a poor little male greenfinch all puffed up yesterday, and last night he was sitting under the holly. I just picked him up and put him in the shed for the night, out of harm's way, but of course he was dead this morning.

Last night I just watched my tv shows and posted on the forum. Watched the end of the farcial Eurovision Song Contest too and saw that our pathetic effort came second to last. Perhaps the stupid public in this country will think about voting for such crap in the future. A real embarrassment.

So today, it's not stopped raining at all. At least I had enough motivation to clean out the guinea pigs and Chippy, and change my bed. Emma's not been off the sofa since about 10 oclock this morning. She must be busting, but she hasn't asked to go out. I've been out twice and done the bird feeders up top and my aviary and at various times chucked some pellets and seeds out of the back door in the general direction of the feeder down here. Diddy hasn't been out for two days either.

At this moment in time, I'm in two minds whether to go to Rhayader tomorrow. The forecast changes every time I check, one minute its Monday the best day, then its Tuesday, then they are both okay, then they both have heavy rain forecast. Really don't know what to do, better decide pdq though cos I have to let Pete know this evening.

Any good news? Yes, West Ham have just beaten Man U at Old Trafford to stay in the Premiership. I watched every second of it on Sky, with my heart in my mouth, and shed a few tears at the final whistle. Well done lads. And Yay Stevenage won the FA Trophy final at Wembley yesterday. And I got my garage outside the gate, and the key, instead of the wrong one down the other end of the cul-de-sac. Shame I shall have to start paying for it now though, I've been using it free for a month.....

And I thought I was depressed because, although it was sunny the temperature didn't get above +7C. Now they are calling for flurries tonight and tomorrow morning. Never mind, it will get sunny and dry again and you will forget about all the rain.

Just think, it could be worse, you could be in a drought with fires raging and water restrictions. We can only water the garden 1 day a week! And I saw the sky for the first time in 3 days, briefly, when the smoke haze lifted this afternoon. Its back now though :(

While we don't usually get many, many days in a row of rain, we DO manage to get weeks at a time where it will snow every day. Now THAT is depressing! :) Hope your days get sunny, soon.

Your venting at the weather gave me such a good giggle - sorry - I know what rain is like - I live in a rain forest normally but it is hot and sunny here now. Hope it improves for you Jan.

Poor Jan, you do sound fed up. I get cheesed off with the rain too, wet and muddy dogs every day are no fun at all. But really we are lucky to have plenty of water, imagine living somewhere that you had to walk miles every day to get just enough to drink and cook with. None for bathing in and none to water the food crops with.
