Back to normal today...

....with the weather, heavy drizzle and fog. Grey all day, had the lights on since 3 o'clock. Too horrible to take Emma out, so we had a game of teddies for 5 minutes until she lost interest. I've done very little, a bit of printing and messing around, mainly sitting on my bum posting on the forum I belong to. Played with the budgies a bit, Alfie is getting tamer. Bless him, can't fly but still keeps trying, he tries to follow Chippy across to sit on the Guinea pig cage, and takes an almight leap and ends up on the floor about 3 feet away. His wings obviously work a bit though, and stop him from hurting himself, but it's such a shame for him, can't see any apparent reason why he can't fly, I mean they flap up and down and he's only a tiny little thing, there's no weight to him to hold up. So he will get on my finger to be picked up now without biting me sometimes!

One thing to cheer me up today, I haven't posted about the diet for a while because although I have done very little in the way of cheating or going over my meagre calorie allowance, I haven't lost a single bloody pound in three weeks, so was throughly fed up. I am obviously just eating too many calories, despite what all the diet plans tell you, I am sticking to less than 1300 a day for sure, but as I know from before, I can only regularly lose a pound or two a week on 1000 which is bugger all basically. How people can still manage to eat three meals a day and lose weight is beyond me, well people of my age anyway, different if they are young and fit and go to the gym or play team sports or whatever. Anyway, despite this apparent lack of weight loss, I measured myself today, and in two weeks, since I had the exercise bike, I've lost an inch round my waist and hips, and half an inch round each thigh and calf. Very happy with that, hope it carries on at that kind of pace! I'm still only doing about 15 minutes a day, burned about 1400 cals apparently last week, did 30 odd miles again, am on schedule for the same this week too.

And finally, I don't know about going to the Wind farm protest thing any more. Pat showed me an article in the local paper that came out Wednesday of last week, that a High Court judge had thrown out our first appeal, so personally, I don't think we stand a snowballs chance in hell of getting anywhere with the human rights one which is supposedly our main hope. But what's really pissed me off is the fact that nobody from the group has contacted me, bar Helen, who wanted some help with her pc two weeks ago, since Christmas, nobody bothered to find out if I am ok, or let me know anything, I got fed up with phoning them all the time, have left it to see what happens and the answer is nothing. I will see if I am in a better frame of mind later, but I can't see me going down there tonight, maybe I will when the nights get a bit lighter if it's still running, but I honestly can't see much point, but there again, I always was a defeatist.

That's amazing that you lost those inches. Congratulations! The bike must be working at getting it off.

Congrats on keeping up with the biking. If you had a little scale you'd know how many calories you are consuming. Hope you're allowing yourself at least 30 grams of protein a day. Its kind of odd to lose an inch off your calf. that sounds like lost muscle. For me, keeping under 1000 calories a day results in some weight loss in a few weeks. However, its so onerous that I never can make myself do it much longer. You could try fitday.com for an accurate measure of torment.

Yeah, thanks, I've had a look at that site, seems interesting, at least it's free! My legs are huge, I'm currently awaiting a specialist's appointment (the doctor referred me last week) to see what the problem is with them, so anything that goes is a relief tbh.
