Sorted!

No funny stories today, well I suppose I could tell you about phoning the council and explaining to the girl on the switchboard, waiting whilst she had a word with her colleague as to who I needed to speak to, then being put through to a guy, and explaining it all again, who then put me through to my saviour? Nah, I won't bother with that bit. Hallelujah, God Bless Julian. Now Julian is the lovely chap who I have met here on several occasions, anyone remember the day when he came to ask about me keeping chickens, and I said no I haven't any, but was thinking that Diddy would be coming out of the front door any second? Well, it's that Julian. Wish I'd thought to speak to him in the first place. I told him everything, I mean the lot, the whole sad story of yesterday too, and he tutted and huffed in all the right places, and agreed entirely that all was not what it should be.

He said he would phone the company that deals with the boxes/alarms immediately and get someone out, either today or tomorrow. Well bless his little cotton socks, he did just that, and a very nice man, I said a very nice man, called here about 4pm as I was out cutting the grass (it's been lovely here today, warm, bright, no wind, just so pleasant, and don't faint, but it's not rained here since Sunday morning!) Anyway I digress. He knew all about these boxes, oh yes indeedy. They were made obsolete 9 years ago! It should have been taken away. It is still live, so he turned off the electric, and he disconnected the extension phone, and we checked and doubled checked, and yippee everything works just fine. It would seem that BT would be to blame for wiring my new line into an existing one in the first place, and also the Council for not getting the box removed. Frankly, I can't be arsed to kick up any more fuss, I'm just glad it's sorted. Also my broadband MAXdsl has also sorted itself out today, it takes three days apparently to re-set the speed, and I'm back to about 6.5meg instead of dial-up speeds, so yay, a result. The very nice man is now going to arrange with Western Power to come along and disconnect the electric supply, and then he will return and take away the box. So I said I will give him the paint brush to paint the wall underneath. He said he doesn't "do" painting. Shame. ;)

Apart from that, little else, apart from the most amazing sunset tonight at 5 o'clock, so I took lots of piccies, hope they come out as good as I was hoping. Here goes....

Can you spot the Robin?
