If you do a se...yes, theres loads of other reasons. If you do a search online you will find them. The main one is the noise, there is a constant whine/drum/hum noise that is there 24/7. There is also flicker effect, lots and lots of people have become very ill because of this, can give terrible migraine. The thing for me is that it is proven to have killed thousands and thousands of birds who get killed by the blades, which rotate at 150mph at the tip when they are in full flow Birds don't stand a chance in hell, especially birds of prey who are chasing birds or migratory birds which fly at night, or in fog.... This particular development will rip apart the countryside, and will ruin many peoples lives. I won't go on any more, it's something that I could get very animated about.Janhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10651807465859935301noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7128703959582611933.post-72794201497202590692008-03-08T09:03:00.000+00:002008-03-08T09:03:00.000+00:00I deleted my previous comment because I did a coup...I deleted my previous comment because I did a couple of typos, you've all read it anyway I expect, but will put it again after this. Anon, that's terrible about the birds over your way. What a disgusting waste of life. :(Janhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10651807465859935301noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7128703959582611933.post-79385195366443418672008-03-08T01:05:00.000+00:002008-03-08T01:05:00.000+00:00Ok. Now I understand about the objections to a win...Ok. Now I understand about the objections to a wind farm. Its mainly about the noise and wild birds. I dont know how many people realize it, but brightly illumininated skyscrapers also kills many many birds especially during migration. Its very puzzling and sad to see their bodies on the sidewalks in the mornings on the way to work especially the warblers. All dead for the vanity of illuminated skyscrapers and no one makes a fuss about it.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7128703959582611933.post-18317928044868385352008-03-07T20:47:00.000+00:002008-03-07T20:47:00.000+00:00My husband is in the power business. They are highly overrated, absolutely not worth the time and money to set them up and when there is no wind...duh...

Well, if you have the Antiques Road Show nearby take the pin in. If it's a genuine emerald, you have got quite the nest egg. It would go a long way in assuaging your frustration about 1,000 cal. a day!

And I empathize about the caloric intake. I'm so there with you. I can't exercise enough to counter what I like to eat. It's depressing but don't beat yourself up about faltering this week. A treat now and then keeps you sane.

Best of luck with the guys.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7128703959582611933.post-65381219304490808002008-03-07T18:50:00.000+00:002008-03-07T18:50:00.000+00:00I've also heard of the amount of birds that get ki...I've also heard of the amount of birds that get killed with these wind mills. It's tragic. The brooch is beautiful Jan. How nice of that woman to give it to you. Might be fun to meet that guy from Sydney.oldcrow61https://www.blogger.com/profile/08037896874383359258noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7128703959582611933.post-1776848235777207352008-03-07T18:38:00.000+00:002008-03-07T18:38:00.000+00:00This comment has been removed by the author.Janhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10651807465859935301noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7128703959582611933.post-58448944549582899562008-03-07T18:25:00.000+00:002008-03-07T18:25:00.000+00:00Honestly, what are the objections of having a "win...Honestly, what are the objections of having a "wind farm" around where you live? The video was a bit sensational. Are you basically afraid that one of the propellers will shatter and kill you? or are there other valid objections?Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
